Brief

Ute Junker is an award-winning Australian travel writer, food journalist & podcaster for a wide array of publishers including Australian Financial Review, Qantas, Vogue, Traveller.com.au

Ute wanted a platform to promote her writing, generate new leads and launch her new podcast series I Know This Place.

Her wishlist included a minimalist site that complimented the luxury experiences she writes about. It needed to look beautiful whilst being easy to navigate and could be updated by Ute on a regular basis.

Further to web design, Ute also needed a branding guidelines, a logo and business cards created.

The site was designed with print-editorial in mind – A nod to both the publications she writes for and Ute’s past as a magazine editor.

The black and white, minimalist design allowed for the images to speak for themselves and create colour. Subtle design elements were incorporated including the alternate mouse effect and advertising functionality. The site itself was designed to be maintained with ease. A number of bespoke content templates were created which automatically feed to the homepage content areas, including the slider, conveying site currency to both the end-user and search engines.

I was referred to Claire by another very happy customer and myself and my team are absolutely over the moon with the end result of our new and completely overhauled company website.

Claire was a complete one-stop shop managing the design, content editing, photography and after-sale training in content management. Her passion and genuine care for the task at hand is above and beyond, not to mention her patience in dealing with some less creative individuals (i.e me).
